The goal is to build a hydrogen refueling network that can be rolled out quickly, and built up over time as fuel cell trucks become more common. As of now, the refueling station is… basically just an asphalt-and-gravel lot, with a building for 24/7 support on-site, across the street from the Ontario Airport. But that’s some ways off.

Hyundai worked closely with ATX, the telematics service provider and Aeris to build Blue Link, a connected vehicle program that incorporates safety and security, entertainment, productivity and convenience features. Through its close relationship with Sprint, Aeris provides ATX and Hyundai access into a 3G and 4G cellular infrastructure.

The new guideline builds off the success of the first light-duty SAE J2954 standard published in 2020. The energy crosses an air gap (the ground clearance between the pads) and is then converted from AC into DC on the vehicle to charge the vehicle batteries. DC Fast Charging is not available. Overall, the build quality was at a high level. Newsom signed a funding bill to invest $106 million in the construction of additional hydrogen stations through the end of the decade, for the first time backing stations for commercial vehicles as well as passenger cars.
