Fuel economy is EPA rated at 24 mpg city, 28 highway, 25 combined. EPA rated at 23/28/25. Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV): 2.5-liter Mazda supplies the charging cord with the PHEV. The CX-90 PHEV has a very handy and useful Charge Mode. Each of these are a first for Mazda and will be shared with future vehicles.

Volvo has flipped its usual script with the 2023 XC60 Recharge plug-in hybrid, but it hasn’t sacrificed any of the benefits of owning a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV), which is the perfect bridge between a gasoline and electric power. mpg while getting as much as 40 miles when driving in the all-electric mode.

Power, but not enough efficiency to hit 30 mpg. The EPA fuel economy numbers of 21 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined are almost exactly what we got covering 301 miles driving through Southern California. We were hoping to get 30 mpg on the highway, but no matter how hard we tried the best we could do was 28.1

Probably the most needed and least controversial proposed change is the elimination of the phaseout of the tax cap that begins in the quarter after a manufacturer sells 200,000 BEVs or PHEVs in the US. But all of these PHEVs have batteries of around 9 kWh and so they could easily be upgraded to 10 kWh to qualify for the tax credit.

Running on unleaded premium, the EPA has rated the fuel economy at 19 mpg city/25 highway/21 combined. The GV70 competes against premium small SUVs including the Acura RDX , Audi Q3, BMW X3, Buick Envision , Lexus NX , Lincoln Corsair, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Tesla Model Y and the Volvo XC60. Road Test: 2018 Volvo XC60 T8 PHEV.
