BMW of North America and Coulomb Technologies announced that drivers of the BMW ActiveE all-electric vehicle ( earlier post ) will be able to take advantage of the expansion of the ChargePoint Network into the Boston Metro area. The BMW ActiveE is the BMW Group’s next step towards a mass-produced electric vehicle.

In recent testimony, Nuvve CEO Gregory Poilasne told the lawmakers that bidirectional charging can reduce the total cost of EV ownership, and that it’s essential for integrating more renewable energy into the grid. Then it takes the DC from the bus, or car, and converts it back to AC to provide power for the grid. That’s one way.

The converted vans will run on electricity only and will charge directly from the power grid. The converted vehicle will comply with Guidelines for Electric Vehicle Safety SAE J2344, and all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. induction motor, inverter, charger and 12V power supply.
