UK-based Connected Energy and Groupe Renault have installed two quick-charge stations based on Connected Energy’s E-STOR energy storage technology on highways in Belgium and Germany. Motorists there will be the first in the world to benefit from this service.

When Volvo Buses participates in the Busworld exhibition in Kortrijk, Belgium in October, the company will unveil the Volvo 7900 Electric—Volvo’s first series-produced electric bus under its own brand. The bus’s batteries are charged through the energy generated during engine braking, as well as at bus stops via the power grid.

Full technical details of the R5 will remain under wraps until its unveil but Renault has said that range-topping versions will come with a 52kWh battery that will provide for a range of up to 400km. What’s missing is the cool diamond-shaped illuminated ‘5’ logo.
