This past week was certainly quite a whirlwind of EV news and developments from Volvo’s plans to end production of ICE vehicles by 2030, yet another proposal to reform the federal EV tax credit, chip shortages, Washington state’s plans to ban ICE vehicles by 2030, Lucid Air delay, Fisker to partner with Foxconn, and much, much more.

However, if you were expecting the Fisker Karma to be another example of a green car that got away, then it seems you got one wrong. The 2010 Fisker Karma will offer 400 horsepower of peak power and has a 0-60mph time of less than six seconds. The petrol engine then generates enough electricity to run for 250 more miles.

Estrema Fulminea – solid state batteries are the point of difference for supercar newcomer Estrema, which promises to hit 320km/h in less than 10 seconds. Also ferrying guests about a short circuit (so to speak) was a smart fortwo imbued with a Tesla-engineered drivetrain, fruit of its effort to supply Daimler with battery packs for 1,000 smart eds. The car would have been capable of making a lasting impression given the chance, outfitted, as it was, with the motor and gear box 1.0 and 49 mpg.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
