The IEEE Oregon Section sponsored the nomination. FROM DREAM TO REALITY Before the group began developing USB, it explored what was already available. A single computer was unlikely to have 127 USB ports, but the number of ports available could be increased by adding USB hubs. The dedication ceremony is still being planned.
