GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Plans Saturn Vue PHEV-10. But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. They only have that many models because they use the same chassis and drivetrain to build 3 different cars, one branded as a Chevy, the next a Pontiac, then a Saturn, etc. Former vice chairman Bob Lutz said as much a year ago.
