As the automobile industry moves ever closer to the age of green cars, manufacturers are lining up some innovative concepts that place the emphasis firmly on fuel economy and cutting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Meanwhile, the experimental Hybrid 4 version of the Peugeot RCZ has CO2 emissions of just 95g/km.

If no one wants your car (because people think it sucks), then no one will buy it, regardless of how good the fuel economy may or may not be. Generating electricity from wind and geothermal rather than a CO2 producing sources would help alleviate that problem. GM is making strides increasing their cars fuel economy.
