Disneyland will replace gasoline vehicles at its Autopia ride with EVs in 2026, the Los Angeles Times confirmed this week. theme park and it undoubtedly has a role in nurturing auto enthusiasm for kids. Honda says battery-electric and fuel-cell electric vehicles will make up 100% of its global sales by 2040.

Late Thursday, those activists got their wish , and Disney announced that it would go all-electric with the ride within the next 30 months. At first, Disney’s statement sounded a little noncommittal and open – they didn’t state a specific timeline, nor specify that the ride would be all-electric.

The news was reported in many outlets suggesting that Disney is going all-electric with Autopia, but unfortunately, Disney’s statement is a little noncommittal and open on that front. But the ride was sponsored by Chevron from 1998-2012, and that company is pretty dedicated to poisoning small children anyway, so it was apt.

Nissan appears intent on opening up a market for mid-price range electric cars within two years. President Obama has stated a commitment to 1 million plug-in cars by 2015. Here's my June column.

There has never been a shortage of stories in the press denigrating plug-in electric cars. Because people naturally, logically believe electric cars are a good idea. Special interests who preferred to maintain the internal combustion status quo (read oil and auto companies) have long needed to plant seeds of doubt.

Think is also working closely with the Brussel based Eurelectric , the European union of electricity industry. Kulongoski, Oregon as the electric-car manufacturer may be eyeing the “green” city of Portland. Think Global managers want to develop the car plant and launch an engineering center, perhaps alongside.
