We noted in December that the Society of Automotive Engineers, or SAE, was working to update standards for the interface between plug-in electric cars and the grid, and planned to agree on a set within months. And for this ecosystem to be robust, there must be commonality, especially when owners are plugging into the electrical grid.

Vehicle to Grid [V2G] technology is a bi-directional electric grid interface that allows a plug-in to take energy from the grid or put it back on the grid. Recent announcements demonstrate that electric utilities and some auto makers want to make V2G a reality. Smart meters and substations will be integral.

I obtained more than the usual share of info simply from my own online sleuthing. France’s auto industry is probably the largest Western auto industry that goes completely under the radar in the US. Including complete tables for Israel in 2019-2020 which I calculated and handed over to Jose!

Notice in [link] that GM carefully avoids claiming to reduce CO2 by shifting to the grid, but leads people off the track by focusing on smog related issues. JUST TRYING TO MILK and Suck as much from the fall of the Auto industry as possible.
