American Honda Motor has introduced a Class 8 hybrid diesel electric truck into its truck fleet at its parts center in Alpharetta, Ga—the first such in the auto industry. Honda uses Class 8 trucks to transport service parts between its parts centers and dealerships.

And EV straggler Honda shed a bit more light on its upcoming EVs built on GM’s Ultium battery and powertrain platform. Honda of America sales chief Dave Gardner told reporters one of the electric SUVs will be from the Honda brand, while the other will be an Acura. Honda will offer more details later this year, he said.

Hyundai, which announced this May that it would build its first-ever dedicated EV plant in the state of Georgia and, to capitalize on the North American final assembly requirement in the newly-passed IRA, just revealed it was mulling moving the groundbreaking on the facility from the original target of 2023 to before the end of this year.
