No less an auto industry titan as Ford has also made bidirectional charging a selling point of their F-150 Lightning electric truck, reportedly slated to roll off the lines this year. In case of power outage at home, the DC pins in the charger can send juice back into the house, keeping the lights on.

Additionally, I had a close frind out in California that just about creamed in his pants when he was able to lease one. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator.
