Polestar, Volvo Cars’ new electric performance brand, introduced the Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. The combustion engine in the Polestar 1 is a high-performance supercharged and turbocharged gasoline in-line four-cylinder engine. Two electric motors drive the rear wheels.

Starting in mid-2019, we have seen reports of the Hyundai Kona’s high-powered batteries spontaneously catching fire, with now 13 recorded incidents to-date, including fires in Canada, Korea, and Austria. After events in New Zealand, it’s only a matter of time until we hear news on a countrywide recall.

The LC Super Hybrid, conceived by Controlled Power Technologies (CPT) and the Advanced Lead-Acid Battery Consortium (ALABC) to show that significant CO 2 reduction can be achieved through electric hybridization at low voltages (12-48 volts) using the latest lead-carbon batteries, will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Ford has unveiled the all-new Ford Focus. Ford’s multi-award-winning 1.0-liter liter EcoBoost engine is offered with 150 PS and 182 PS.
