Audi introduces new Q7 SUV, plug-in hybrid variant coming later this year

As promised ( earlier post ), Audi introduced the new Q7 at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The revamped 7-seater SUV offers diverse drivetrain technologies (gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid), intelligent muti-material lightweight construction, and a full range of connectivity and electronics features.

Audi unveils Q8 sport concept with 48V mild hybrid system (mHEV); drive system coming to “many” Audi models

Schaeffler preparing 48V mild hybrid Audi TT for road testing

Schaeffler is now applying 48V hybridization to an Audi TT. The 48 V on-board electric subsystem uses a lithium-ion battery as its energy store. It is connected via a voltage transformer to the 12 V on-board electric system which powers all the different electrical components in the vehicle, from headlights to seat adjusters.

Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupé plug-in makes its European debut; showcasing the MQB

V6 gasoline engine (EA 390) and six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission with 40 kW electric motor (DQ 400 E) in the engine compartment. The DQ 400 E hybrid transmission is also being applied in the upcoming Audi A3 plug-in hybrid. The electric motors contribute 180 N·m (133 lb-ft) (front) and 270 N·m (199 lb-ft) (rear).

The Audi allroad shooting brake represents the first time that Audi has combined the all-road and e-tron form languages. kWh, which is enough for 50 km (31 miles) of all-electric driving.
