Audi is adding a new member to its A3 family: the A3 Sportback 30 g-tron natural gas vehicle. Audi first introduced an A3 Sportback g-tron in 2014. With its abbreviated compression phase and long expansion phase, it was designed specifically for operation at partial load. TFSI 110 kW (150 PS) and also improves efficiency.

Globally, by 2025, Audi is aiming to have 30 electrified models on sale, with 20 of those vehicles fully electric. In the US, Audi has already introduced five production models: the Audi Q5 TFSI e, A7 TFSI e and A8 TFSI e plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) as well as the e-tron all-electric SUV and upcoming e-tron Sportback.

Following on the heels of the introduction of the second-generation A5 in June ( earlier post ), Audi has now introduced the new A5 and S5 Sportback coupé models. In a new departure, the A5 Sportback is also available as a bivalent g-tron, which customers can run on either Audi e-gas ( earlier post ), natural gas or gasoline.

A mild hybrid has an electric motor that provides efficiency for the main gasoline engine by allowing the engine to be turned off whenever the car is coasting, braking or stopped, then quickly restarted once power is required. Maybe Maserati designers can take a look at this on the next refresh.

Competing in the premium midsize SUV category, the 2021 Cadillac XT5 is right in the middle of stiff competition, including models from Acura, Audi, BMW, Genesis, Infiniti, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Tesla and Volvo. Some of these come as hybrids, plug-in hybrids or full electrics, upping the ante even more.

Expressively Designed Premium Sedan. Genesis says the 2022 G70 sport sedan is “designed to perform, tailored to be driven, engineered to care.” We spent a week in the smallest Genesis sedan that is designed to take-on the BMW 3-series and Mercedes-Benz C-class sports sedans and found it was a lot of well-engineered car for the money.
