The Hertz Corporation, which includes the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands, has expanded of its Green Traveler Collection car rental fleet to include the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid ( earlier post ) in select cities across the US. All of the Green Traveler cars have fuel efficiency ratings starting at 33+ highway mpg.

Four of the areas—Portland, San Jose, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz—have 20 or more actions in place. These typically range from $1,000 to $3,000 per battery electric vehicle in most states, and they are typically about half as much for plug-in hybrid vehicles due to their lesser all-electric driving capability.

Atlanta, a “New Wave” EV market that has nabbed the Nº 3 spot due to a number of factors including congestion where LEAF performs well, state incentives and HOV and HOT access. Oregon has a Chief EV Officer to promote EV use.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is adding approximately 5,000 additional gas/electric hybrids to its nationwide fleet and designating nearly 80 rental locations across the country as “hybrid branches.” Louis; Seattle; and Washington, DC. per rental to fund certified offset projects through TerraPass.

Coca-Cola Enterprises has ordered 150 Kenworth T370 diesel-electric tractors and 35 Kenworth T370 hybrid trucks, all of which will be on the road this year. GCW) are the largest hybrid delivery truck on the road in North America. The CCE order is the largest yet received by Kenworth for hybrid tractors and trucks.
