Purpose-built electric bikes and e-bike conversions using hub-motors are now commonplace. That got me thinking, how hard would it be, and how much would it cost, to do a simple conversion now? Furthermore, changing the battery pack on say a Toyota Prius often costs a fortune, at least in most European countries, so such cars better be VERY cheap, but they’re not. In most conversions cost is about the same because of needless weight. I also wrote an article about cars and what’s good and not good.
