Increases for hydrogen fuel cell research from $289 million in FY 2007 to $309 million in FY 2008. Bush proposes $81 million, which includes $17 million for plug-in hybrid battery grants. We need cars.

Today’s electric vehicles, which averaged 291 miles of range in 2022 , have more than enough battery capacity to meet the daily needs of most drivers.
