Some of these pollutants are contributing to global warming via their greenhouse gas effect (methane’s Global Warming Potential for a 100-year time horizon is 21 times higher than CO 2 ), while others have adverse effects on human health. UNECE’s major aim is to promote pan-European economic integration.
