Cadillac gave a sneak peek of “the future of electric performance,” teasing its new Opulent Velocity EV concept. The automaker just lifted the Chevy Blazer EV stop-sale last week after nearly three months due to software issues. That’s still more than the Tesla Model Y, which starts at $36,490 with the tax credit.

Dealers are particularly concerned about proposed EPA emissions rules for model years 2027 to 2032 which that agency has said could lead to up to 67% EV sales, according to Automotive News. Dealers pointed to how few vehicles qualify in 2024 , due to sourcing rules, as making the tax credit less important for driving EV sales.

The intention is to make the company’s two electric car offerings more attractive to consumers, especially those that are looking for an affordable alternative to a gasoline-powered car. Chevrolet announced this week that its 2023 Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are going to get major drops in price. Same car, less cost. Bolt EV $26,595 ($32,495).
