General Motors is pushing ahead with plans to become an electric automaker, but the road toward that goal hasn’t been the easiest so far. A GM advisory committee with several dealers is leading the messaging, saying that they believe the automaker risks losing customers with an overly aggressive electrification strategy.

Despite previously having committed itself toward a future where it builds all-electric vehicles, General Motors has made plans to bring plug-in hybrids back to our market. General Motors already delivered the Chevrolet Bolt, with the model becoming one of the first affordable EVs offering real utility to customers.

Annual changes to vehicles kept customers coming back, marketing happy with new things to advertise, and made it clear to the general public if you could afford a new car (or not).
