Farasis Energy, a global developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion cells, modules and large battery systems, recently completed C-round financing exceeding 1 Billion US dollars. Since 2017 Farasis has regularly ranked first in terms of shipments of NCM-based Li-ion pouch cells to the Chinese automotive market.

Global Power Synergy PLC (GPSC) is building a battery manufacturing facility in Thailand using 24M’s novel SemiSolid lithium-ion technology ( earlier post ). The majority of the projects are targeted at making copper foil for lithium-ion batteries to meet demand from EVs. Copper foil is the most commonly used anode current collector in Li-ion batteries; it not only lets electric current flow but also dissipates the heat generated by the battery.
