The second generation 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid continues what Kia started in 2017 when the Niro Hybrid debuted. The 2023 Kia Niro hybrid is the class leader in fuel economy. The Niro has been completely redesigned for 2023 with what Kia says was inspired by combining nature with aerodynamics.

The 2022 Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is powered by a 2.5-liter The Environmental Protection Agency, EPA , rates fuel economy at 40 highway when running in gasoline mode only. The Escape PHEV does not come with a 480V DC Fast Charge option.

Kia unveiled three major hybrid offerings at the Chicago Auto Show: the 2017 Niro Hybrid Utility Vehicle; the new Optima Hybrid; and the new Optima Plug-in Hybrid. Because the high-voltage battery is both power and energy dense, engineers were able to use the downsized gasoline engine to maximize fuel economy and reduce emissions.
