Nissan to expand ProPILOT technology to additional models including Rogue Sport in US

Nissan has sold more 120,000 vehicles featuring ProPilot technology globally. The company will now expand the availability of ProPILOT to additional models, including the Nissan Rogue Sport in the US and the Qashqai in Canada, beginning in late 2018. ProPILOT will also be featured on the upcoming all-new 2019 Nissan Altima sedan.

EPA fuel economy report finds weight and power leveling off, footprint stable

EPA recently released the latest edition of its annual report Light-Duty Automotive Technology, Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Fuel Economy Trends. Model year (MY) 2016 vehicle fuel economy was 24.7 Average new vehicle horsepower (hp) was also basically unchanged in MY 2016, as the average vehicle was 1 hp higher than MY 2015.

The Trends report has been published annually since 1975 and covers all passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, minivans, and all but the largest pickup trucks and vans. The final MY 2013 adjusted, real world CO 2 emissions rate for all light-duty gasoline and diesel-fueled vehicles is 369 g/m—a 7 g/mi decrease relative to MY 2012.
