The MY 2015 Ford F-150 will offer a new high-output, twin-turbo 2.7-liter Due to the extensive lightweighting in the new F-150 ( earlier post ), this will improve the power-to-weight ratio of the 2015 truck by 15% over the 2014 5.0-liter liter V8-equipped F-150 with similar torque output.

Automatic Labs and Ford Motor Company announced a joint experimental collaboration to improve the driving experience for Ford & Lincoln vehicle owners. Ford’s powerful in-car technology makes working with Ford highly valuable for us. Automatic will launch additional connected-car enhancements in the coming months.

In New York yesterday, Ford Motor Company provided a strategic update to investors; the presentation follows a four-month deep dive into Ford’s strategy and business operations led by President and CEO Jim Hackett and Ford’s senior leadership team. By 2019, 100% of Ford’s new US vehicles will be built with connectivity.

In a pre-Christmas media event, Ford president and CEO Mark Fields said while 2014 was a good year for the company, 2015 has the potential to be a “ breakthrough year ”. In moving forward on that, Fields said, Ford will focus on five key areas of innovation: mobility, autonomy, connectivity, customer experience and performance.

Ford Motor Company sales rose 5% in total US sales in April with 222,498 vehicles sold. Ford brand SUVs had a record-setting month—the company’s best April ever—with sales of 62,730 vehicles. For the first four months of 2015, combined hybrid sales were down 29%, from 27,877 units to 19,699.
