With a new design and built on a new platform, the 2023 Honda HR-V continues to be a good value with a roomy interior and 30+ mpg. Running on 87 octane, the EPA rates the HR-V AWD at 25 mpg city/30 highway/27 combined. If opting for the front-wheel drive HR-V, the fuel economy numbers are 26/32/28.

Out on the freeway, Comfort provided a comfortable ride and was preferred to Eco, where the acceleration response, gearshift points and air conditioning were reduced to get the best fuel economy. The Acura RDX has been one of the best-selling compact premium SUVs since 2006, and has sold more than 50,000 every year since 2015. Power, but not enough efficiency to hit 30 mpg. The EPA fuel economy numbers of 21 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined are almost exactly what we got covering 301 miles driving through Southern California.

In 240 miles driving around Southern California we averaged 23 mpg, but in a 100-mile run with the adaptive cruise control set at 65 mph, we averaged 31.2
