Jaguar expects the C-X75 to deliver CO 2 emissions of less than 99 g/km while being able to achieve in excess of 200 mph. The road-going supercar will use a downsized, highly-boosted gasoline engine with one electric motor at each axle. The C-X75 will have an EV range in excess of 50 km (31 miles).

Since 2010, all Sprinters in the US have been powered by BlueTEC diesel engines, marking the first use of BlueTEC technology, with its selective catalytic reduction (SCR) exhaust aftertreatment system, in the commercial van market here. This downsizing enables lower fuel consumption, accompanied by low emissions and optimum weight.

The new F800 Style is a five-seat upper-range sedan featuring an all-new multi drive platform suited for a hydrogen fuel cell electric drive with a range of almost 600 kilometers (373 miles) as well as the a plug-in hybrid drive with a 30 km (19 mile) all-electric range. This applies in particular to the electric drive with fuel cell.

Audi has introduced a new low-displacement turbocharged gasoline engine in the A3 model line. Downsizing entails the replacement of engine displacement with turbocharging. Turbocharging and direct gasoline injection facilitate a compression ratio of 10.0:1. The A3 and the A3 Sportback reach a top speed of 190 km/h (118 mph).
