This represents a 6% decrease relative to MY 2011, and essentially offsets the 5% increase from MY 2010 to MY 2011. Ten of the eleven major manufacturers increased fuel economy from MY 2011 to MY 2012, the last two years for which EPA has definitive data. (VW VW was the exception.)
