ICCT benchmarking report finds wide 51% gap between most- and least- fuel-efficient transatlantic airlines

The new report is an extension of ICCT’s work benchmarking US airline fuel efficiency on domestic operations since 2010 ( earlier post ). A nonstop round-trip transatlantic flight averaged about one tonne of CO 2 emissions per passenger, equivalent to emissions from a 35-kilometer daily commute in a Toyota Prius over a work year.
