General Motor eCrate conversion kits – by late 2021 GM plans to offer battery and motor kits for classic cars, allowing an easy EV conversion. Mazda MX-30 – sporty thinking in a compact SUV body with rear-hinged back doors. Mazda is reportedly working on one for 2023. Due in 2022.

In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. First Escape PHEV delivered to SCE Nov 2007; 20 in 2008-2009. Mazda Ford Partner was reported to be developing Series PHEV based on Mazda 5 MPV platform. Batteries not ready. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs. No announced plans.
