Axon Automotive uses novel manufacturing techniques to make carbon fibre technology, which has been associated with racing cars, affordable for eco cars. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) has sold ten Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid ( earlier post ) trucks to Ireland’s leading utility company, the Electricity Supply Board (ESB), in Dublin. ESB plans to use the vehicles for customer service and for infrastructure maintenance in Ireland. Daimler AG owns 85% of MFTBC shares.

This represents the largest year-on-year monthly decrease since 1980, when JATO Dynamics started to collect data—even surpassing the global financial crisis in November 2008, which saw a 25% decline in sales. This result follows declines in January and February, taking the quarterly volume down to 3.04 million units.

At present, 17 of the 27 EU Member States levy CO 2 -related taxes on passenger cars, and 15 governments provide tax incentives for electrically chargeable vehicles, according to the newly published European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) Tax Guide 2010. In 2009, the market share of cars emitting 120 gCO 2 /km had risen to 25%.
