AvtoVAZ, the largest automaker based in Russia, a part of Rostec Corporation, introduced three new LADA concept cars at the Moscow International Motor Show 2014. Having become a shareholder of AvtoVAZ in 2008, Rostec appointed a group of managers to develop AvtoVAZ in 2009. Production is scheduled to start in 2016 in Togliatti.

The program, internally named CMF-A, covers the most affordable category of cars in the Common Module Family (CMF, earlier post ), Renault-Nissan’s modular system of vehicle architecture. When the Renault-Nissan Alliance formed in 1999, about 1% of total group sales came from the so-called BRIC countries of Brazil, Russia, India and China.
