The company was competing for the pact with a joint venture of German’s Continental AG and Boston-based A123 Systems. It has been designed to run for up to 40 miles on a single charge of its lithium-ion batteries and then to keep running on juice provided by a 1.4iter, four-cylinder gas engine that serves as a power generator.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. The car is expected to cost around $40,000.
