Peugeot Signs EV Partnership LOIs with Veolia and Greenwheels; Peugeot and Greenwheels Join the European EVA Project

At the Brussels Motor Show, Peugeot signed two Letters of Intent (LOI) agreements with Veolia and Greenwheels concerning the purchase of electric vehicles and the development of mobility services. Autolib, announced in 2008, is a self-service electric car rental scheme similar to Paris’s Vélib bike scheme ( earlier post ).

Perspective: US Needs to Transition to Hydrous Ethanol as the Primary Renewable Transportation Fuel

Automobile manufacturers were given tax breaks to produce cars that ran on hydrous ethanol, and, by 1980, every automobile company in Brazil was following this lead. By the mid-1980s, three quarters of the cars manufactured in Brazil were capable of running on sugarcane-based hydrous ethanol. Pursuant to 40 CFR § 80.27(a)(2):
