Light trucks (pickups, minivans/vans, and truck SUVs), accounted for 36% of all light-duty vehicle production in MY 2012, the second lowest level since 1993. Beginning in MY 2005, technology has been used to increase both fuel economy (which has reduced CO 2 emissions) and power, while keeping vehicle weight relatively constant.
