Honda President Ito steps down, Takahiro Hachigo to replace him

From April 2004 to March 2006, Hachigo was stationed in the US as Senior Vice President of Honda R&D Americas, Inc., where he became actively involved in the local development of Honda and Acura automobiles. After retiring from this position in March 2008, Hachigo became General Manager of Purchasing Division No.2

However, unlike today’s hybrid drive Le Mans racers, or the new Acura NSX hybrid supercar, also revealed at NAIAS ( earlier post ), the GT—nor any of the other Ford performance vehicles unveiled at NAIAS—makes no use of electric drive technology. Ford has been selling hybrids and, later plug-ins, since 2004.
