Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. I had surmised this in my 2002 car design thesis [link] even before anyone was talking about plug in series hybrids. Instead of investing in our future we dumped money on trying to save the past. Way to go morons.
