Audi AG announced that Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg has reached a mutual agreement with the Supervisory Board to step down as Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development. The move comes as Volkswagen AG continues to work to address the diesel engine emissions cheating scandal.

The new Audi R18 e-tron quattro diesel hybrid ( earlier post ) will start the 80 th running of Le Mans from grid position one. Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen in the number “2” Audi R18 e-tron quattro set the fourth-fastest lap (3m 25.433s) behind the quickest hybrid vehicle from Toyota. But this is just a very small step.

The Volkswagen Group is continuing its restructuring in the aftermath of the diesel engine emissions scandal. He began his career at Audi in Ingolstadt in 1987. The number of top managers reporting directly to the CEO has been almost halved, and new appointments to several posts will take effect in the first quarter of 2016.

Winfried Vahland graduated from the Technical University Darmstadt with a major in Mechanical Engineering and Economics, and began his professional career with GM in 1984.
