I had surmised this in my 2002 car design thesis [link] even before anyone was talking about plug in series hybrids. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. Oh, and it looks wayyyyy cooler than the Volt.
