Audi, the city of Ingolstadt and Telekom cooperate on 5G technology

Audi and Deutsche Telekom are entering into a 5G technology partnership together with the city of Ingolstadt. The future 5G cellular network standard will allow significantly higher bandwidths and virtually real-time network responses. As well as Audi, other industrial companies will be able to use the local 5G infrastructure.

Italy looks to sink $1 billion into boosting electric cars

TRW Forecasts Electric Park Brakes on 1 in 5 European Passenger Cars by 2015

Navigant Research forecasts new EV global sales of > 346,000 units in 2014; 10 predictions for the year

Broadly, Navigant expects expansion in both the higher end of the market (thereby putting competitive pressure on Tesla Motors), as Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Mercedes, Saab, and Volvo introduce their first plug-in cars.
