For the federal government, the commercial EV charging incentives come in two varieties: tax credits and rebates. Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit. In 2005, the federal government created the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure tax credit, which includes the installation of EV charging infrastructure per WattLogic.

The stations will allow the fleets to lower their costs by buying fuel in bulk, access federal motor fuel excise tax credits, refuel at the times most convenient to their schedules, and model successful use of propane to nearby peers. To support the vehicles, 35 propane refueling stations will be constructed.

Along with Tedd Abramson’s Zero Truck in San Diego and Smith Trucks in London, we now have EVI (I keep wanting to write that as EV1:~). The more the merrier, the market for these is going to explode soon with Obama’s stimulation plan, and its tax of $7,500 to $15,000 for electric trucks. Sounds good to me.
