This project started about a month ago when I became co-chair of the Oregon Electric Vehicles Association. All the commercially available freeway-capable (70 mph) EVs are priced way out of reach for the average consumer. I wanted a project that the group could share their collective brain power and rally around.

Sadly, we weren’t able to test whether the new 500e retains the entertaining and delightful handling of its predecessor, the 2013-2019 500e, which was sold only in California and Oregon. One “surprise and delight” feature of which Fiat is very proud: below 20 mph, the car broadcasts the mandatory pedestrian alert sound.
