US Mapping Project Highlights Potential for Mineral Carbonation for CO2 Sequestration

Geologists at Columbia University’s Earth Institute and the US Geological Survey have mapped some 6,000 square miles of ultramafic rocks at or near the surface in the US that have the potential for sequestering more than 500 years of US CO 2 production. Some also occur in the interior, including Montana.
