There are at least a half dozen different technologies to power cars with electricity under construction. Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. Depending upon where you live, power plants are often burning natural resources.

French construction company Bouygues Immobilier is working on an office in Meudon, western Paris, which uses 4,000 square metres of solar panels to meet not only its own energy needs but also to export surplus energy back to the power grid.
