Smart will be launching a test fleet of 250 electric cars in selected areas, including: Portland, San Jose, Indianapolis, Orlando, and the Washington, D.C. Indianapolis; Orlando, Fla.; Daimler is already working on a next generation battery pack developed with Evonik Industries AG. in 2008, but its sales fell to 14,595 in 2009.
