The Hertz Corporation, which includes the Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands, has expanded of its Green Traveler Collection car rental fleet to include the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid ( earlier post ) in select cities across the US. All of the Green Traveler cars have fuel efficiency ratings starting at 33+ highway mpg.

Hyundai unveiled the redesigned 2018 Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid models at the Chicago Auto Show. The transmission uses an electric oil pump, which helps improve efficiency. Sonata Hybrid SE has preliminary internal estimates of 39 mpg (6.03 l/100 km) in the city, 45 mpg (5.22 l/100 km) combined.
