California Energy Commission awards more than $8.5M to bring natural gas- and propane-powered vehicles to California

The awards are funded by the Commission’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program. Kenworth Truck Company (Kirkland, Washington) is awarded $884,000 for the buy-down of 34 natural gas vehicles of 26,001 pounds and greater gross vehicle weight range. Kenworth is the original equipment manufacturer of the vehicles.
