Eos Energy Storage, a developer of zinc-air grid-scale battery technology, completed its $15-million Series B financing round with participation from a syndicate of 21 strategic and financial investors. Eos has developed Znyth, a zinc hybrid cathode battery technology. Initial pricing is expected to be $160/kWh.

And with the popularity of electric vehicles, the grid is under more and more pressure, so the demand for energy storage is growing. Storage can also help smooth out demand, avoiding price spikes for electricity customers. Others solid battery types are nickel-cadmium and sodium-sulphur, while zinc-air is emerging.
