Hybrids don’t have to be luxury vehicles. Car buyers shouldn’t be forced to buy high-end bells and whistles when fuel economy and reducing emissions are their top priority. But both models come with forced features that cost nearly as much as their hybrid drivetrains.

The five-passenger crossover SUV, which shares the Theta chassis with the Chevrolet Equinox, offers estimated highway fuel economy of 30 mpg (7.8 City fuel economy is estimated to be 21 mpg US (11.2 Maximum fuel economy is achieved in part with an “ECO” mode activated via a console-mounted button.
