GM has offered Saab for sale, and is requesting Swedish government support prior to any sale. Saturn will remain in operation for the next several years, through the end of the planned lifecycle for all Saturn products. GM Fuel Economy plans. GM will have a total of 36 nameplates in 2012, down 25% from 2008 levels.

All the wind farms and solar panels in the world won’t do anything to lower the outflow of hundreds billions of dollars annually or decrease our pump-fueled funding of Islamic fundamentalism unless we build cars that can use that cleaner electricity. I wish I knew what’s holding Gore back from full-throated support for plug-in cars.

Its like having a second fuel tank that you always use first -- only you fill up at home, from a regular outlet, at an equivalent cost of under $1/gallon. Finally, looking at the non-electric fuel, instead of using gasoline for long-trips, PHEVs could run on bio-diesel, cellulose ethanol, or other bio-fuels to further reduce greenhouse gases.

Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs. General Motors Chevy Volt series PHEV, which it calls "extended range electric vehicle" (EREV), part of "E-Flex" multi-fuel platform. Plans Saturn Vue PHEV-10. Committed to sales of 10,000 or more vehicles in late 2010, with increasing production in 2011. Batteries not ready.
